Beach Pools Rule

Our beach rarely has those super awesome kid friendly "pools" that form during high tide.  That safe area of the beach where you feel pretty confident that the five foot shore pound isn't going to reach your kid and suck him out into the 8 foot trough that is 6 inches from the ankle deep area.  So, on this particular day we were getting pretty stoked when we saw these bad boys forming.

Is that a pool starting to form in the background?  In Elwood's words. . . "Yessssth!"

Just a small river. . .for now

The best/deepest/most awesome
pool our beach has ever seen.

"This is a great time to practice my swimming."

"Doing awesome, as usual. Yeah, Mom, get this on camera"

"I'm getting pretty confident.
Going to start practicing my strokes."

"Whoa, whoa! Too much torque, my freestyle is too strong, I'm going to flip myself over!"

"Why are you recording this?! I barely made it!"

"OK, here we go.  Got the rhythm down, you can start recording again mom."

"What tha?  This looks like Dad's board?"

"Dude, this is so easy.  Why does Ma have so much trouble with it?"

"Oh, oh, a little tricky there.  I see now.  That was  pretty big wave that just came through."

"I feel so stable."

"Alright,I think I'm ready.
Push me off the sand bank."

"Making my way to the nose."

"I got this."
"Whoa. Whoaaa! I got this. I got this."
"Boom. Nailed It!"

We have found the cure for Elwood's ridiculous car seat behavior!

Lilly must ride everywhere with us

"hee, hee, try to catch me, Lilly!"

"Stop squirming and just let me hug you."

"Uhh, what's going on back there Lil? It almost sounds like you don't want to ride the skateboard with me"

"What tha? Where'd she go?"

"Come on Lil, hop on."

"I dunno, Kev, it sorta seems like she doesn't want to ride or something."

"It's cool. . . I'm not bummed or anything. sigh."

"Aww, Mom, you will ride with me? Thanks"

Please note Conor's kiddy pool belly flop in background

"Is this cooling you off?

Getting some harmonica tips from Kev

"Let me see this thing. You know, I can play the kazoo."
