Swimming, Yoga, and a Black Eye

Dad and the 5am Bottle Sisters

flowers blooming by the back door

Just perfect swimming weather.
This last calm spell we had lasted almost 10 days and Tohi had a huge break through in her swimming! She can put her face under and look around, grabbing a rock off the bottom and bringing it up, and exclaiming with immense pride, "I got something just like Woody!" She wants to swim back in forth between Conor and me until she is exhausted.  We are all very excited for another little swimmer!

This beach babe thinks she can swimShe gets herself to that ocean with a quickness, ready to dive in! haha

Sleeping Bruiser

She was goofing around on the couch and hit her eye on the wood frame.  Poor little peanut had a black eye for over a week!

Friday Afternoon Ritual.
The big kids get special treat drinks
in town with Dad.

After their showers, these two cuties go upstairs together and get their pajamas on.  We hear them up there talking and giggling and goofing around each night.  We hear Elwood help Tohi if she's having trouble getting her shirt on and we hear them sneak a few jumps on the bed.  It's super cute.  A few nights ago they came down the stairs together giddy with excitement.  Woody exclaims, "I didn't know I had yoga pants!!! Look how great Tohi and I look in our yoga pants!"

So, Woody is wearing 3T pajamas pants that are Tohi's and Tohi is wearing 24 month pants that are Frankie's.  So, yes, these pants are tight on them like Mom's yoga pants are tight on her.  haha
They were inspired to do quite a bit of yoga in their special pants.  I guess the right equipment does make a difference. haha.

I attended a gal pal paint and wine
birthday party
No kids, Paints, Wine, Snacks, and lots and lots of Laughing.  It was a lovely afternoon.

The whole family at a year old: birthday comparison pics

Conor

Meghan

Anyone else think its strange that Conor and I have the same pose in our one year old photos??

Elwood

Tohi

Frances

As much as I think we all have our own individual look, the five of us certainly look similar at age one.  Except Tohi, clearly, looks the most mature in her one year old photos.  I had to make sure I wasn't accidentally putting two year old Tohi pictures up.  Haha.

Swimming Weather and an Easter Egg Hunt

A large tree branch fell on the steps.  Tohi was walking up the steps/crawling over the tree branches and sweetly singing this song, "Why is there a tree on Daddy's steps? Whhhhyy is there a treeee on Daaadeeeees steps??" as she struggles up the steps.  Kids are so positive and adorable.  She's not annoyed or frustrated; but she has noticed that these steps are significantly harder to climb up because there is a "tree on Daddy's steps." (Why they are "Daddy's Steps" is because Conor just built them not because he is the only one that can use them. haha)

Conor receiving some instructions from the band leader

Woody is, obviously, the lead singer

The ocean is not always this calm in front of the house.  But when it is we swim as often as we can.   A before school swim, a school break swim, an after lunch swim and, of course, a before dinner swim (pictured above)

The only pictures I make it in are selfies.  haha

We are starting the fish tank again.  So far, we have a healthy environment of a snail and two crabs

I keep taking pictures of how beautiful I think our new view is.  It looks like such a subtle change in the pictures but it looks and feels very different from our porch.

Hi there little swimmers way out there!

The big kids and I went to a friends house for an Easter Egg Hunt on Easter Afternoon

The little Fern and Dad stayed home.  They had a lovely afternoon of re-hiding one Easter egg, brushing each others hair, bubble baths, and naps.

Tohi insisted on being in Woody's picture of him and his "birthday tree."  haha.  We took a few without her as well.
