A Different View

Living in Panama has given us a different view on, well, everything.  We have different perspectives on relationships, marriage, parenting, schooling, budgets, building, gardening, plastic awareness, recycling, trash in our oceans, food, sustainable living, water consumption. . . the list goes on and, perhaps, there will sharing on these things in the future but when I say "A Different View" right now, I mean it quite literally.

We cut down some trees and we are loving  our new view!

Before:
It's emotional to cut down a tree.  It took us almost three years to decide to do it.  And in these past three years we have planted multiple pipa coconut trees around the shoreline and property.  The pipa coconuts have a sweeter water and don't grow as high; which is nice as a harvest perspective and in a "dropping coconut death bomb" perspective.

After
Hello Horizon!

The first tree did not fall where we wanted it to.  The next trees went much smoother.

Con and his Dad cut down three trees and then we waited a day to decide if we wanted to cut down a fourth.  We decided we did and it really opened up the space.  We kept commenting on how the space has so much light now. It was a thoughtful decision to cut down the trees and we are loving the open, light, happy energy it has created in our front yard.
