The blog has been neglected, but not abandoned.  Conor and I are alive and well, as are the dogs.  We are currently living in Bocas Del Toro, Panama and loving life.
More on that to come but I feel obligated to keep our blog somewhat in a chronological order. It seems a bit confusing to just leave out huge chunks of travel and experiences, as if we just magically appeared several countries south, months later of our last blog post. Plus, it was one hell of a ride getting to Panama so I want to share our adventure.   Our computer bit the dust while we were waiting on a weather window in Guanaja, Honduras.  I have pieced together the next fews posts with the help of our log book.   In calm conditions I manage to record life while underway, but the conditions we experienced on our way south completely clouded out the log book from our priority list.  (to be replaced by more basal priorities like keeping the boat afloat/survival, etc.)  As soon as we were safely anchored to ensure correct memories Con and I put both out minds together to retell the story and iron out inconsistencies. We don't have wind instruments, so all seas and wind conditions are relative to our sailing experiences over the last year.  And I'll admit that our storm experience is quite meager.  Our previous storms were steady 30knot winds (according to Ted's windex at the time) in 6-8ft seas for 10 hours or so.  But I would say we managed to reef the sails and get the boat set up to the point that the conditions felt safe and comfortable.   Just keep in mind that we made every effort in retelling the story to not let it grow to novel proportions, as they tend to do.  And as a personal story telling side note, we have been conservative in our estimates of seas and wind, automatically reducing numbers assuming that our minds have puffed them up from emotional stimulation.
