Looking cute, if not unmatched on laundry day |

Not quite six months here, this little guy wants to GO!
His crawl is a combination of "real" crawling, one leg dragging, rolling, scooting, and bear walking (where his butt is high up in the air, feet on the ground, head sometimes up, sometimes not). All of it is adorable and very mobile. |

Some early morning reading |
We take a lot of walks with Elwood. Sometimes as a family, at times solo, sometimes when he is fussy, other times just to go. I love it all. Elwood likes to be outside. He is mellow in our arms and just looks around. He is peaceful and observant, respectful of his surroundings. The air is cool and crisp, the leaves are changing, little chipmunks and squirrels are busy collecting snacks for the fast approaching winter, and always I have a ridiculously optimistic glimmer of hope that we will have a moose siting. While we walk, there are times when I think Elwood has fallen asleep and as I peak on him I see his eyes wide open just quietly, alertly taking in the beauty that is all around him. Our eyes meet, his arm curls tighter around my neck and he gives me this huge grin as if to say, "Isn't this great, Mom?" Yes, buddy, it is.

It's been so cold at night we pulled our bed into the kitchen
where the fireplace is. |
