Woody and I were watching a crazy storm roll in on the porch the other day. A powerful gust came through that knocked a palm frond on the tin roof and it startled both of us. We looked at each other and smiled. Woody exclaimed, "Too Many Crickets!" His playful eyes dancing at me with the excitement of the weather. "You say it now, Mom! Too Many Crickets!" I smiled back at him and asked, "Too Many Crickets?"
"Yes, Mooom!"
As he laughs at me while slightly rolling his eyes
I answered, "I don't get it. Too Many Crickets? Where? Because of the storm?"
He's looks at me as if to say, I know you are teasing me, you know what I mean.
It clicks in my brain.
I say, "Ahhh, you mean, Jiminy Crickets?"
Wood: "Yeah! Too Many Crickets!"
An expression in our house now?
Too Many Crickets!
(Also heard later that day while Woody "Talked" for his toys,
"SO Many Crickets")
Too Many Crickets do we love that guy!
